Compactness via equivalence relations (Q1001464)

In order to unify some (transfinite) results on compact algebraic structures, such as those proved by \textit{W. Zimmermann} [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 23, 319--328 (1982; Zbl 0474.16016)], the author proposes a concept of compactness with respect to sets of equivalence relations that generalizes the notions of congruence compactness, equational compactness, and topological compactness, where the algebraic structures all appear as atomic compact relational systems. Thus, the main theorem of the present paper, a purely set-theoretic analogue of the above-mentioned result, becomes applicable.
