On a diffusion system with bounded potential (Q1001671)

The paper deals with a nonlinear diffusion system of a special form. Such a system arises from the time-space diffusion processes and is related to the Schrödinger equations. The most typical example of such processes is the \(N\)-dimensional Brownian motions. In the introduction the author give a rather detailed review of results by various authors devoted to analysis of the considered systems. The main attention in the work is paid to investigation of a system with a non-periodic potential. The main difficulty of analysis of such systems is the lack of compactness of the Sobolev embedding, since the domain is the whole space. Assuming the potential is bounded and its bound from below is positive, existence and multiplicity of solutions are obtained for the system with asymptotically quadratic nonlinearities via variational approach.
