In reference to a very elementary definition of a completely monotonic function on certain interval and the logarithmically completely montonic function on the same interval, as that of the former and in the context of their derivatives, the author has, in a brief note, presented elegant and explicit results with the analysis comprehensible to heterogeneous readers. Applications of the classical Euler's gamma function, the di-gamma function (or the psi function, as it is also called) and the first and the second Gautschi-Kershaw inequalities are made to evaluate the desired results of the paper, given in the form of Theorem 1 (page 540 of the paper) and an application of it resulted in the form of Theorem 2, as a direct consequence of which the best lower and upper bounds for Walli's ratio gamma \((x+1)\) upon gamma \((x+s)\) are established (Theorem 3 of the paper), which incidentally improve the inequalities, given in the paper. The software MATHEMATICA 5.2 is used to obtain some numerical values of \(p(t)\).
