This article treats the representation of quivers in infinite-dimensional Hilbert spaces, where the vertices are Hilbert spaces and the arrows are operators between them. In the first part, several key notions are developed, in particular, indecomposable representations, reflection functors, and their duality. The main result attempts to approximate an analogue of Gabriel's theorem for finite-dimensional representations of quivers (which completely characterizes the indecomposability of such quivers). Only one direction is proved, as follows. Theorem 6.8. Let \(\Gamma\) be a finite, connected quiver. If the underlying undirected graph \(|\Gamma|\) contains one of the extended Dynkin diagrams \(\tilde{A}_n\) (\(n\geq 0\)), \(\tilde{D}_n\) (\(n\geq 4\)), \(\tilde{E}_6\), \(\tilde{E}_7\) or \(\tilde{E}_8\), then there exists an infinite-dimensional, indecomposable Hilbert representation of \(\Gamma\). For the converse, some evidence is given, but the statement remains open. The authors note that its resolution would answer a long standing question in the theory of transitive lattices of subspaces of Hilbert spaces.
