Dual formulae for the NS-power (normalized symmetric) basis are presented. Unlike the Bernstein basis, the expression and calculation of the power basis is simple, the solution of different degrees with power basis is suitable and then, the formulation of algorithms involving degree operations are considerably simple. In this paper, not only the Marsden identity about the power basis expanded by the NS-power basis is deduced, but also a transformation formulae from the Bernstein basis and the uniform B-spline basis to the NS-power basis are given. Therefore, the transformation from Bézier curves and B-spline curves to NS-power curves can be realised and, additionally, the transformation from the generalized Ball basis and other polynomial bases to the NS-power basis is possible to accomplish by using existing methods. Due to the remarkable properties of the NS-power basis such as possessing good numerical conditions, admitting Horner's evaluation algorithm, keeping \(C^{k-1}\) continuity for \(k\)-th degree, the NS-power basis can be widely used in computer aided geometric design.
