On the radical for some class of Banach algebras (Q1002784)

Let \(A\) be a complex Banach algebra and let \(A^{**}\) be its second dual endowed with the so-called first Arens product. It is shown that if the structure space of \(A\) is scattered and \(A\) satisfies some additional requirement, then the Jacobson radical \(Rad(A)\) of \(A\) equals the left annihilator of \(A^*\cdot A\) and \(Rad(A^{**})\) equals the right annihilator of \(A^*\cdot A\).
