Let us consider \(G\) a bounded domain in \(\mathbb R^n, \) \(n \geq 2 \) and \(L\) an uniformly elliptic differential operator of second order of the type \[ L\,\,\equiv \, \sum_{i,j=1}^{n} a_{ij} (x) u_{x_i x_j} \] having bounded measurable real coefficients. The author define classes of continuous functions in \(G\) that contain generalized solutions of the equation \[ L\,f\, =\,0 \] and have the property that the compact sets removable for such solutions in these classes can be completely described in terms of Hausdorff measure.
