On the general theory of semiordered spaces (Q1004028)

This is an old paper written by two important Russian mathematicians, appearing in print for the first time. In a foreword by K.\,Kopotun, a brief history of the manuscript is given. The paper dates back to some time in 1937--1939, at the very beginning of the theory of ordered spaces. It is interesting mostly for historians of mathematics since almost all notions and results are well-known by now. But the two authors are considered as the fathers of this field; so the publication of their paper is entirely justified.
