Let \(k\) be a field, \(U_{\sigma}\) the affine toric \(k\)-variety associated to a strongly convex rational polyhedral cone \(\sigma\) in the Eucledian \(n\)-space, and let \(T\) be the \(n\)-dimensional torus that acts on \(U_{\sigma}\). If \(U_{\sigma}\) is smooth, then there is an equivariant isomorphism \(U_{\sigma}\simeq T_{\sigma}\times \mathbb{A}^r\) where \(r=\dim(\sigma)\) and \(T_{\sigma}\) is the unique orbit of minimal dimension (namely, dimension \(n-r\)). We have the following well known isomorphisms for the equivariant \(K\)-theory of smooth toric varieties [see, for example, \textit{A. S. Merkurjev}, ``Equivariant \(K\)-theory'', in: Handbook of \(K\)-theory. Vol. 1 and 2. Berlin: Springer. 925--954 (2005; Zbl 1108.19002)] \[ K_{q}^{T}(U_{\sigma})\simeq K_{q}^{T}(T_{\sigma})\simeq K_{q}(k)\bigotimes_{\mathbb{Z}}\mathbb{Z}[M_{\sigma}] \] where \(M_{\sigma}\simeq \mathbb{Z}^{n-r}\) is the group of characters of \(T_{\sigma}\). In the paper under review, the authors have generalized the above result for the equivariant \(K\)-groups of an arbitrary affine toric variety. In fact, they prove this result in a more general context, using the \(K\)-theory of graded projective modules. The second result of this paper is a new proof of the theorem due to \textit{G. Vezzosi} and \textit{A. Vistoli} [see Theorem 6.2, ``Higher algebraic \(K\)-theory for actions of diagonalizable groups'', Invent. Math. 153, No.~1, 1--44 (2003); erratum ibid. 161, No.~1, 219--224 (2005; Zbl 1032.19001)] that calculates the equivariant \(K\)-theory of an arbitrary smooth toric variety. The authors recover the results of Vezzosi and Vistoli by using the theory of sheaf cohomology for fans, and Thomason's foundational work on equivariant \(K\)-theory [see \textit{R. W. Thomason}, ``Algebraic \(K\)-theory of group scheme actions'', Ann. Math. Stud. 113, 539--563 (1987; Zbl 0701.19002)].
