The boundary behaviour of functions \(f\) that are univalent in the unit disk \(D\) is characterized by the integral means spectrum \[ \beta_f(t) = \limsup_{r\to1} \frac{\log\int_0^{2\pi}|f'(re^{i\theta})|^t d\theta}{\log[1/(1-r)]}. \] Define the universal integral means spectrum \(B(t)\) as the supremum of \(\beta_f(t)\) over all conformal maps from \(D\) to the complex plane \(\mathbb C\). Upper estimates for \(B(t)\) were given by \textit{C. Pommerenke} [Boundary behaviour of conformal maps, Grundlehren der Mathematischen Wissenschaften. 299. Berlin: Springer-Verlag. ix, 300 p. (1992; Zbl 0762.30001)] and recently by \textit{H. Hedenmalm} and \textit{S. Shimorin} [Duke Math. J. 127, Nol. 2, 341--393 (2005; Zbl 1075.30005)]. For lower estimates it was shown that \(B(t) \geq 0,117t^2\) for small \(t\), and \textit{P. Kraetzer} [Complex Variables, Theory Appl. 31, No. 4, 305--309 (1996; Zbl 0865.30020)] obtained experimental inequalities \(B(t) \geq t^2/4, |t| \leq 2\). The author gives new lower estimates, namely it is analytically shown that \(B(t) > t^2/5\) for \(0 < t \leq 2/5\) and \(B(t) > 3t-1\) for \(0 < t \leq 0,341\dots\).
