Multispace and multilevel BDDC (Q1006434)

The authors propose a new family of abstract multispace balancing domain decomposition by constraints methods (BDDC) for linear algebraic equations arasing from the discretization of elliptic boundary value problems. Their construction uses the fact that the coarse problem has the same structure as the original one, thus it can be approximately solved recursively by BDDC. The authors also provide a condition number estimate, which generalizes the previous known estimates in the case of a single space.
