      A fundamental triple of formal dimension \(n \geq 3 \) consists of a \((n-2)\)-type \(T\), a homomorphism \(\omega : \pi_{1}(T) \rightarrow {\mathbb Z}/2{\mathbb Z}\) and a homology class \(t = H_{n}(T, {\mathbb Z}^{\omega})\). There is a functor \(\tau_{+} : \mathbf{PD}^{n}_{+} \rightarrow \mathbf{Trp}{n}_{+}\) from the category of Poincare duality \(n\)-complexes and maps of degree one to the category of fundamental \(n\)-triples and morphisms inducing surjections on fundamental groups. The authors show that this functor reflects isomorphisms and is full for \(n \geq 3\).
