In the article the authors use the Künneth spectral sequence for \(S\)-algebras (introduced in \textit{A. D. Elmendorf}, \textit{I. Kriz}, \textit{M. A. Mandell} and \textit{J. P. May} [Rings, modules, and algebras in stable homotopy theory. Mathematical Surveys and Monographs. 47. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (1997; Zbl 0894.55001)]) to investigate the homology cooperation algebra \(\ell_*\ell\) of the generalized homology theory \(\ell_*\) determined by the Adams summand of the Brown-Peterson spectrum \(BP\) at odd primes \(p\). The cooperation algebra \(\ell_*\ell\) has already been studied extensively before in \textit{R.~Kane} [Mem. Am. Math. Soc. 254 (1981; Zbl 0482.55019)] and in \textit{W.~Lellmann} [J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 29, 562--576 (1984; Zbl 0573.55016)] respectively, where the authors work with variants of Brown-Gitler spectra to obtain their results. The more modern approach by the present authors has the advantage that it yields explicit formulae for the multiplication for a rather canonical set of generators of \(\ell_*\ell\). The formulae are derived from a multiplication on a Koszul resolution of \(\ell_*BP\) which is used in setting up the Künneth spectral sequence mentioned above. Along their treatment the authors reobtain various statements which were originally proven by Kane in [loc. cit.]. E.g.~they reprove Kane's result that the \(p\)-torsion in \(\ell_*\ell\) coincides with the \(u\)-torsion in \(\ell_*\ell\) (where \(u\in \ell_{2(p-1)}\) denotes the canonical generator). The only result that they in fact have to import from Kane's memoir is the fact that all \(p\)-torsion resp.~all \(u\)-torsion in \(\ell_*\ell\) is simple. This particular result the authors need in order to conclude that the Künneth spectral sequence of \(S\)-algebras collapses and that there are no non-trivial extensions to solve in order to compute \(\ell_*\ell\) from the spectral sequence.
