The reviewed book is organized into two logical parts. The first one comprises two chapters. Chapter 1 presents motivating problems in network economics. Chapter 2 contains an overview of foundational concepts and key results in mechanism design. This very long chapter is an introduction to mechanism design theory. The second part of the monograph contains an exposition of representative game theoretic problems in different network economics situations and a systematic exploration of mechanism design solutions of these problems. This part has four chapters. Chapter 3 deals with the sponsored search auction problem. Chapter 4 is devoted to the resource allocation problem in computational grids. Robust broadcast protocol design problem is considered in chapter 5. Chapter 6 contains several pointers to the relevant literature. The reviewed book is interesting for those who study problems connected with e-commerce.
