    The Cauchy problems to four nonlinear equations are studied in the paper \[ \frac{\partial u}{\partial t}+\alpha \frac{\partial^5 u}{\partial x^5}+\beta \frac{\partial^3 u}{\partial x^3}+\gamma \frac{\partial u}{\partial x}+\mu \frac{\partial }{\partial x}(u^k)=0,\quad (x,t)\in \mathbb R\times \mathbb R,\;k=2,3,\tag{1} \] \[ \frac{\partial u}{\partial t}+\alpha \frac{\partial^5 u}{\partial x^5}+\beta \frac{\partial^3 u}{\partial x^3}+\gamma \frac{\partial u}{\partial x}+\mu u\frac{\partial^2 u}{\partial x^2}=0,\quad (x,t)\in \mathbb R\times \mathbb R,\tag{2} \] \[ \frac{\partial u}{\partial t}+\alpha \frac{\partial^5 u}{\partial x^5}+\beta \frac{\partial^3 u}{\partial x^3}+\gamma \frac{\partial u}{\partial x}+\mu \frac{\partial u}{\partial x}\frac{\partial^2 u}{\partial x^2}=0,\quad (x,t)\in \mathbb R\times \mathbb R.\tag{3} \] Each of these equations is equipped with the initial condition \[ u(x,0)=u_0(x)\in H^s(\mathbb R).\tag{4} \] The above equations are the models of shallow water in different cases. It is proved that 1) the problem (1), (4) for \(k=2\) is locally well posed for data in \(H^s(\mathbb R)\) with \(s>-\frac{7}{4}\); 2) the problem (1), (4) for \(k=3\) is locally well posed for data in \(H^s(\mathbb R)\) with \(s\geq-\frac{1}{4}\); 3) the problem (2), (4) is locally well posed for data in \(H^s(\mathbb R)\) with \(s>0\); 4) the problem (3), (4) is locally well posed for data in \(H^s(\mathbb R)\) with \(s>-\frac{1}{4}\). The results are based on the Fourier restriction technics.
