This paper begins with a detailed presentation of moment problems, J-fractions, biorthogonal rational functions, Padé interpolation, recurrence relations for polynomials defining the biorthogonal rational functions, multipoint Padé approximation problem and, finally, the Nevanlinna-Pick (NP) problem. The NP-problem which consists to find the Markov function \(\phi(\lambda)=\int_\alpha^\beta\frac{d\sigma(t)}{t-\lambda}\) knowing two sequences \(\{z_k\}_0^\infty\) \((z_k\in\mathbb{C}^+)\) and \(\{w_k\}_0^\infty\) such that \(\phi(z_k)=w_k\) is solved by means of the multipoint Padé operator method. In addition the authors present a new proof of locally uniform convergence of diagonal Padé approximants to the Nevanlinna function \(\phi\), firstly proved by Gonchar and Lopez by means of another method.
