This paper deals with Legendrian 2-tori in \(J^1(S^1 \times \mathbb{R})\) or \(J^1(\mathbb{R}^2)\) that have been constructed from loops of Legendrian knots in \(J^1(\mathbb{R})\). The authors show how to compute the differential graded algebra (DGA) for the Legendrian contact homology of such tori based on the DGA of the underlying Legendrian knot and the monodromy of the loop of knots. They use this computation in order to establish an example of a Legendrian torus whose contact homology is non-trivial but nevertheless admits no augmentation, and also two Legendrian tori with distinct contact homologies whose linearized contact homologies coincide. The computation uses the flow-tree formula of Ekholm for computing contact homology in 1-jet spaces and Kalman's monodromy formula for loops of Legendrian knots. In passing, an algebraic proof of the fact that contact homology of the trace of an isotopy depends only on the chain homotopy class of the morphism of the isotopy is also given.
