Let \(R\) be noncommutative prime ring and \(\beta\) be an automorphism of \(R\). An additive mapping \(\delta\colon R\to R\) is said to be a \(\beta\)-derivation if \(\delta(xy)=\delta(x)y+\beta(x)\delta(y)\) holds for all \(x,y\in R\). Usually, \(\beta\)-derivations are also called skew derivations. An additive mapping \(f\colon R\to R\) is a right generalized \(\beta\)-derivation if there exists a \(\beta\)-derivation \(\delta\colon R\to R\) such that \(f(xy)=f(x)y+\beta(x)\delta(y)\) for all \(x,y\in R\). Obviously, both \(\beta\)-derivations and generalized derivations are right generalized \(\beta\)-derivations. \textit{C.-L. Chuang, M.-C. Chou} and \textit{C.-K. Liu}, [in Publ. Math. 68, No. 1-2, 161-170 (2006; Zbl 1105.16030)], proved the following result. Let \(R\) be noncommutative prime ring, \(\delta\) be a \(\beta\)-derivation of \(R\) and \(a\in R\). If \(a[\delta(x),x]_k=0\) for all \(x\in R\), where \(k\) is a fixed positive integer, then \(a=0\) or \(\delta=0\) unless \(R=M_2(GF(2))\). The paper under review extends this result to the case of right generalized skew derivations and obtains an analogous statement.
