Consider two multifunctions \(F_1: X\to Y_1\), \(F_2: X\to Y_2\) and an operation \(\bigodot Y_1\times Y_2\to Y\). Let \(F\) be a selection for the composite mapping \(F_1\odot F_2\). A pair \(f_1\), \(f_2\) of selections of \(F_1\), \(F_2\), resp., is said to be a splitting of \(f\) if \(F= f_1\odot f_2\). The existence of such splittings in the context of Banach spaces and adequate families of convex sets is investigated. In particular, the case of strictly convex finite-dimensional precompact spaces is decided.
