Comparison of MacNeille, canonical, and profinite completions (Q1013989)

In this paper, the authors are interested in the conditions under which different completions of distributive lattices and related algebras are isomorphic. They are mostly concerned with the following three completions: MacNeille completion, the canonical completion and the profinite completion. Also, they prove main results about the isomorphism of the three completitions for Heyting algebras and discuss consequences of these results for the case of Boolean algebras. Finally they briefly discuss extensions of his results to more general settings.
