\(C\)- and \(C^*\)-quotients of frames are the counterparts in pointfree topology of the classical topological notions of \(C\)- and \(C^*\)-embedded subspaces. They were introduced by \textit{R. N. Ball} and \textit{J. Walters-Wayland} in [``\(C\)- and \(C^*\)-quotients in pointfree topology'', Diss. Math. 412 (2002; Zbl 1012.54025)]. In the paper under review, the author supplements the study of Ball and Walters-Wayland with characterizations of \(C^*\)-quotients of completely regular frames (in terms of the Čech-Stone compactifications of the frames) and \(C\)-quotients of completely regular frames (in terms of the Lindelöf reflections of the frames). The latter is purely frame-theoretic in nature (i.e., with no classical counterpart) because there is no Lindelöf reflection for topological spaces. The former extends the well-known characterization of \(C^*\)-embedded subspaces \(S\) of a Tychonoff space \(X\) as the ones for which \(\beta S=\text{cl}_{\beta X}S\). Characterizations of \(C^*\)-quotients and dense \(C\)-quotients of completely regular frames in terms of normal covers are also presented.
