Let \(f\) and \(g\) be two nonconstant meromorphic functions, and \(a\) and \(b\) be two small meromorphic functions with respect to both of \(f\) and \(g\). Denote by \(\overline N(r,f=a,g=b)\) the counting function which counts the common zeros of \(f-a\) and \(g-b\) where each zero is counted only once. Denote by \(\overline N_E(r,f= a,g=b)\) the counting function which counts the common zeros of \(f-a\) and \(g-b\) with the same multiplicies where each zero is counted only once. The authors say that \(f\) and \(g\) share the pair \((a,b)\) in the sense of IM\(^*\) provided that \(\overline N(r,\frac{1}{f-a})-\overline N(r,f=a,g=b)=S(r,f)\) and \(\overline N(r,\frac{1}{g-b})-\overline N(r,f=a,g=b)=S(r,f)\). They say that \(f\) and \(g\) share the pair \((a,b)\) in the sense of CM\(^*\) provided that \(\overline N(r,\frac {1}{f-a})-\overline N_E(r,f=a,g=b)=S(r,f)\) and \(\overline N(r,\frac{1}{g-b})-\overline N_E(r,f=a,g=b)=S(r,f)\). In this paper, the authors show three theorems and two corollaries. We state one of them below. Let \(f\) be \(g\) two nonconstant meromorphic functions, and \(a_i,b_i\) \((i=1,2,3,4; a_i\neq a_j,b_i\neq b_j,i\neq j)\) be small functions \(f\) and \(g\). If \(f\) and \(g\) share three pairs \((a_i,b_i)\) \((i=1,2,3)\) \(\text{CM}^*\), and share the fourth pair \((a_4, b_4)\) \(\text{IM}^*\), then \(f\) is a quasi-Möbius transformation of \(g\). The authors give several examples which imply that the conditions in the theorems cannot be removed.
