A note on the paper ``Optimizing improved Hardy inequalities'' by S. Filippas and A. Tertikas (Q1017699)

In this note, it is proved that Theorem A in [\textit{S. Filippas} and \textit{A. Tertikas}, ``Optimizing improved Hardy inequalities'', J. Funct. Anal. 192, No. 1, 186--233 (2002); corrigendum ibid. 255, No. 8, 2095 (2008; Zbl 1030.26018)] is not generally true. However, it is shown that Theorem A is true only for radically symmetric maps.
