The derivative expansion of the effective action for the Goldstone field of a non-relativistic superfluid Fermi gas at zero temperature in the whole BCS--BEC crossover is studied. Based on the analysis of symmetries, the authors argue that the next-to-leading order action can be given in terms of four coefficient functions; there are also given the precise relationships between these functions and the derivatives of the response functions. The proofs strongly rely on a careful asymptotic analysis combined with related elliptic integrals of the first and second kind.
