Notes on Lipschitz estimates for the stop and play operator in plasticity (Q1021898)

The authors give new Lipschitz estimates for the stop and the play operators in separable Hilbert spaces. The stop and the play operators are important analytical models for hysteresis phenomena. The result in the paper is an extension of the Lipschitz estimates to the case of characteristic containing the origin not necessary as an internal point, and to the case where some different scalar products, given by some suitable operators, are taken into account. Some possible applications of the result are finally outlined.
