The authors present a counterexample showing that their Theorem 1.2 in the mentioned paper in [Topol. Methods Nonlinear Anal. 10, No. 1, 137--169 (1997; Zbl 0978.34074)] is wrong. They present suitable conditions under which the theorem and its proof are correct.
