Let \(K\) be a symmetric subgroup of a reductive algebraic group over the complex numbers. Denote by \(\mathfrak{K}\) the Lie algebra of \(K\) and let \(\mathfrak{P}\) be the Cartan complement of \(\mathfrak{K}\) in the Lie algebra \(\mathfrak{G}\) of \(G\). In the theorem of Kostant-Rallis the space \(\mathbb{C}(\mathfrak{P})\) of \(K\)-harmonic polynomials is a free module over the ring of \(K\) and a tensor product of two appropriate spaces. The authors obtain a grade generalization concerning these \(K\)-harmonic polynomials. For each classical symmetric pair they obtain a stable range where the multiplicity of an irreducible \(K\)-representation in the degree \(d\) harmonic polynomials can be expressed in terms of Littlewood-Richardson coefficients.
