On a closed hyperbolic Riemannian surface, the authors construct smooth deformations of the hyperbolic metric into a Finsler metric that are not Riemannian. The classical Riemannian results about entropy rigidity, marked length spectrum rigidity and boundary rigidity fail to extend to the constructed Finsler category.
