The author of this interesting paper studies the generalized solutions of 2D Euler equation and proves a recurrence theorem. This equation has the form \[ \partial_tu+(u\cdot\nabla )u=-\nabla p, \quad \nabla \cdot u=0, \] which is globally well-posed in a certain Sobolev class \(H^s({\mathbf T}^2)\) (\(s>2\)) on \(2\)-torus \({\mathbf T}^2\). An integral constraint of the form \(\int_{{\mathbf T}^2}u\,dx=0\) is required. The 2D Euler equation is a Hamiltonian system with kinetic energy \(E=\int_{{\mathbf T}^2}|u|^2\,dx\) and enstrophy \(G=\int_{{\mathbf T}^2}\omega ^2\,dx\) (\(\omega \) is the vorticity), which are invariants of the Euler flow. The main statement is that for any \(H^s({\mathbf T}^2)\) (\(s>2\)) a solution to this equation returns repeatedly to an arbitrarily small \(H^0({\mathbf T}^2)\) neighborhood. It is shown that the Poincaré recurrence occurs more often when the 2D Euler equation is defined on a periodic domain. The main statement here is a result along this line. Unfortunately the proof offered by the author does not work for 3D Euler equation.
