The author defines generalized translation operators on semi-simple Lie groups and proves some of their properties. With the aid of these operators the convolution product on distribution spaces is studied. In the case of classical Fourier transforms this was first proved by Ehrenpreis and Hörmander. Earlier the author has studied the analogous problem for the Hankel, Jacobi and Chébli-Trimèche transforms. The author remarks that their proofs are complicated and his proofs can be applied in the case of these transforms.
