    A new generalization of Wilker's inequality involving exponential parameters is established. In particular, the following result is proved: If \(0 < x < \frac{\pi}{2}\), \(p\leq 2q\), \(q>0\) (or \(q \leq -1\)), then \[ \bigg(\frac{\sin x}{x}\bigg)^ p + \bigg(\frac{\tan x}{x}\bigg)^ q > 2. \] The special case \(p=2\), \(q=1\) in the above result yields the previous result of \textit{J. B. Wilker} [Problem E3306, Am. Math. Monthly 96, 55 (1989)]. Furthermore, the following result: If \(0 < x < \frac{\pi}{2}\) , then \[ \bigg(\frac{\sin x}{x}\bigg)^ 2 + \frac{\tan x}{x} > \bigg(\frac{x}{\sin x}\bigg)^ 2+ \frac{x}{\tan x} > 2 \] which is a refinement of the result of Wilker [loc. cit.] was also derived.
