The author considers the existence of explicit search bounds for the zeros of an \(N\)-variable polynomial \(F\) (with \(N\geq 2\)) of positive degree over a number field \(K\) [see also \textit{D. W. Masser}, ``Search bounds for Diophantine equations'', A panorama in number theory or The view from Baker's garden. Based on a conference in honor of Alan Baker's 60th birthday, Zürich, Switzerland, 1999. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press. 247--259 (2002; Zbl 1066.11014)]. The main result is that, for each element \(A \in \text{GL}_N(K)\), either there is a zero of \(F\) over \(K\) with height bounded by \(H(A)\) or there is a zero with small height over \(\bar{\mathbb{Q}}\) and bounded degree which lies in \(A (\bar{\mathbb{Q}}^\times)^N\). The author also finds conditions under which a small-height zero of \(F\) has nonzero coordinates.
