The authors investigate the relationship between the centro-affine geometry of star-shaped planar curves and the projective geometry of parametrized curves in \(\mathbb{RP}^{1}\). They show that the projectivization map induces a map between the differential invariants and a bi-Poisson map between the Hamiltonian structures. The authors also show that the projectivization of solutions of Pinkall's Hamiltonian evolution equation for closed star-shaped planar curves are solutions of the Schwarzian KdV equation. The relationship between the group-based moving frames and the AKNS representation of the KdV equation is used to produce closed solutions to Pinkall's flow.
