Let \(\Gamma\) be a Fuchsian group of Möbius transformations of the unit disk \(\mathbb D=\{z\in\mathbb C;\,|z|<1\}\) onto itself. Let the boundary \(\partial\mathbb D=\{z\in\mathbb C;\,|z|=1\}\) be denoted by \(\mathbb T\). Suppose that \(\hat\Gamma\) is the dual group of \(\Gamma\), i.e. the group of (unimodular) characters. For an arbitrary character \(\alpha\in\hat\Gamma\), associate the subspaces of the classical space \(L_2(\mathbb T)\), \[ L_2^{\alpha}=\{f\in L_2(\mathbb T)|\,f\circ\gamma=\alpha(\gamma)f,\,\forall\gamma\in\Gamma\}, \,\,H_2^{\alpha}(\mathbb D)=L_2^{\alpha}\cap H_2(\mathbb D), \] where \(H_2(\mathbb D)\) is a Hardy space. Let \(\Gamma\) be a Fuchsian group without elliptic and parabolic elements. The Fuchsian group \(\Gamma\) is of Widom type if and only if the derivative of the Green function \(b_0(z)=\prod_{\gamma\in\Gamma}\frac{\gamma(0)-z}{1-\bar\gamma(0)z}\frac{|\gamma(0)|}{\gamma(0)}\) is of bounded characteristic. Let \(\Gamma\) be a group of Widom type, and let \(E\) be associated to it in such a way that \(\bar {C}\backslash E\) be equivalent to the Riemann surface \(\mathbb D/\Gamma\). Then there exists a universal covering map \(\mathfrak z:\,\mathbb D\to\bar{\mathbb C}\backslash E\simeq\mathbb D/\Gamma\). Reproducing kernels are denoted by \(k^{\alpha}(z,\xi)\). Let \(\Omega_{+}=\{z\in\mathbb D;\,\text{Im}\mathfrak z(z)>0\}\) and set \(A^{\alpha}(z)=\sqrt{c(\alpha)}\big(\frac{k^{\alpha\mu}(z,0)}{b(z)} + ik^{\alpha}(z,0)\big),\,\,B^{\alpha}(z)=\sqrt{c(\alpha)}\big(\frac{k^{\alpha\mu}(z,0)}{b(z)} - ik^{\alpha}(z,0)\big)\). Denote \(S_{\alpha}(z)=B^{\alpha}(z)/A^{\alpha}(z)\) and \(\sigma(z)=\frac{1+i\mathfrak z(z)}{1-i\mathfrak z(z)}\). A Schur function satisfying \(S_{\alpha}(z)=\mathcal{S}_a(\sigma(z))\) is denoted by \(\mathcal{S}_a\). The main result in the paper under review is the following theorem: The character-automorphic Hardy space \(H_2^{\alpha}(\mathbb D)\) can be described as \[ H_2^{\alpha}(\mathbb D)=\{F(z)=\frac{A^{\alpha}(z)}{1-i\mathfrak z(z)}f(\sigma(z));\,f\in H(\mathcal{S}_{\alpha}\} \] with the norm \(\| F\|_{H_2^{\alpha}(\mathbb D)}=\| f\|_{H(\mathcal{S}_{\alpha})}\), where \(H(\mathcal{S}_{\alpha})\) is the reproducing kernel Hilbert space with reproducing kernel \(K_{\mathcal{S}_{\alpha}}(\lambda,\mu)=\frac{1-\mathcal{S}_{\alpha}(\lambda)\mathcal{S}_{\alpha}(\mu)^*} {1-\lambda\mu^*}\).
