This article deals with a dynamical systems approach to study the \(\lambda\)-Aluthge transform of a complex matrix \(T\), \[ \Delta_\lambda(T)=|T|^\lambda U |T|^{1-\lambda}\,, \] where \(\lambda\in(0,1)\) and \(U|T|\) is the left polar decomposition of \(T\). It is shown that the iterates of this transform converge to a limit \(\Delta_\infty(\lambda, T)\) if \(T\) is diagonalizable. Using invariant manifold theory, the authors discuss smoothness of the limit with respect to \(\lambda\) and \(T\), and they obtain \(C^\infty\)-dependence under certain assumptions. Moreover, they analyze for which \(T\) the function \(\lambda\mapsto \Delta_\infty(\lambda, T)\) is constant. [For part I, cf. Adv. Math. 216, No. 1, 255--278 (2007; Zbl 1129.37009).]
