This paper studies the relationship between the modular automorphism of a deformation quantization algebra and the Van den Berg duality. The author first recalls the relevant notions and results. The definition of the modular class of a Poisson structure in the algebraic framework is also given. Then the authors shows how the modular automorphism of a deformation quantization algebra is related to the Van den Berg duality beween Hochschild homology and Hochschild cohomology. Finally, it is proved that the Van den Bergh dualizing module is free if and only if the Poisson structure is unimodular.
