Frames for Hilbert spaces have natural generalizations to Hilbert \(C^*\)-modules, but not every Hilbert \(C^*\)-module admits a frame [see \textit{H.\--F.\thinspace Li}, ``A Hilbert \(C^*\)-module admitting no frames'', (2008; arxiv:math.OA/0811.1535)]. It is known that the theory of Hilbert \(C^*\)-modules as a generalization of that of Hilbert spaces is not `trivial' [see \textit{W.\,Jing}, ``Frames in Hilbert \(C^*\)-modules'', Ph.~D.\ Thesis, University of Central Florida (2006)]. In this paper, the authors extend the Casazza--Christensen general perturbation theorem for Hilbert space frames [see \textit{P.\,G.\thinspace Casazza} and \textit{O.\,Christensen}, Fourier Anal.\ Appl.\ 3, No.\,5, 543--557 (1997; Zbl 0895.47007)] to modular frames in Hilbert \(C^*\)-modules. They present a necessary and sufficient condition under which the perturbation (under Casazza--Christensen's perturbation condition) of a Hilbert \(C^*\)-modular Riesz basis remains a Riesz basis.
