The author uses \textit{B. Sz.-Nagy} and \textit{C. Foiaş}'s model operators and Hankel operator techniques [``Harmonic analysis of operators on Hilbert spaces'' (Budapest:\ Akadémiai Kiadó; Amsterdam-London: North-Holland) (1970; Zbl 0201.45003)] to obtain Haagerup-de la Harpe type inequalities for the numerical radius of some Hilbert space C\(_{00}\)-contractions. The main result of this article is as follows. Theorem. Let \(\Theta\) be a two-sided inner function, \(K_\Theta=H^2(E)\Xi\Theta H^2(E)\) (\(E\) is some auxiliary Hilbert space) be a model space and \(M_\Theta=P_\Theta S_E/K_\Theta\) be a corresponding model operator. Suppose that there exist \(\chi\in(K_\Theta)_1\cap H^\infty(E)\) and an integer \(n\geq1\) such that: (a) \(S^{*n}\chi_e\in H^\infty(D)\), where \(S\) is the shift operator on the Hardy space \(H^2=H^2(D)\), \(Sf=zf\); (b) \(\langle M_\Theta^k\chi,\chi\rangle=0\) for each \(k\geq n\); (c) \(|\langle M_\Theta^k\chi,\chi\rangle|=w(M_\Theta)\). Then \(w(M_\Theta)\leq\cos\frac{\pi}{n+1}\).
