In the paper under review, the authors study a categorial correspondence of certain coarse maps between trees, on the one hand, and uniformly continuous maps between the corresponding end spaces of such trees, i.e. ultrametric spaces, on the other hand. In particular, they achieve an explicit formula to construct a non-expansive map between two trees that induces a given uniformly continuous map between the corresponding end spaces. To obtain this formula, they use a procedure described by Borsuk to find a suitable modulus of continuity associated to a uniformly continuous function. The main results in this paper are as follows: The category of complete ultrametric spaces with diameter bounded above by \(1\) and uniformly continuous maps between them is isomorphic to any of the following categories: {\parindent6mm \begin{itemize}\item[(1)] Geodesically complete rooted \(\mathbb{R}\)-trees an rooted metrically proper homotopy classes of metrically proper continuous maps between them. \item[(2)] Geodesically complete rooted \(\mathbb{R}\)-trees and rooted coarse homotopy classes of coarse continuous maps between them. \item[(3)] Geodesically complete rooted \(\mathbb{R}\)-trees and rooted metrically proper non-expansive homotopy classes of metrically proper non-expansive continuous maps between them. \end{itemize}}
