The paper reports the dynamical study of a three-dimensional quadratic autonomous chaotic system with two quadratic nonlinearities, which is a special case of the so-called conjugate Lü system \[ \left\{ \begin{aligned} \dot x&=cx-y,\\ \dot y&=-ay+xz,\\ \dot z&=xy-+bz, \end{aligned} \right. \tag{1} \] where \(a\), \(b\), \(c\) are positive bifurcation parameters. Basic properties of system (1) are analyzed by means of the Lyapounov exponent spectrum and the bifurcation diagram. The analysis shows that system (1) can have complex chaotic dynamics with some interesting characteristics. In particular, different types of chaotic and periodic attractors are observed in different regions of the parameter space. The most part of the paper concerns the numerical study of the system.
