The paper gives weighted versions of the classical Wiener theorem and its extension due to Lévy. Let \(1<p<\infty\) and consider the weighted \(\ell^p\)-space \(\ell^p({\mathbb Z},\omega)\) where \(\omega: {\mathbb Z}\to [1,\infty)\) satisfies \(\sum_{n\in{\mathbb Z}}\omega(n)^{1/(1-p)}<\infty\). The author shows, under the assumption that \(\omega^{1/(1-p)} * \omega^{1/(1-p)} \leq \gamma\omega^{1/(1-p)}\) for some constant \(\gamma>0\), that the space \(\ell^p({\mathbb Z},\omega)\) is a commutative Banach algebra with respect to the convolution product. In case the weight satisfies the further condition that \(\lim_{|n|\to\infty} \omega(|n|)^{1/n} = 1\), a weighted analogue of Wiener's theorem holds: if the Fourier transform \(f\) of a sequence \(a\) in \(\ell^p({\mathbb Z},\omega)\) does not vanish anywhere, then also \(1/f\) is the Fourier transform of some sequence in \(\ell^p({\mathbb Z},\omega)\). The author presents a weighted analogue of Lévy's theorem under the same assumptions. Finally, the author gives examples of weights satisfying the assumptions.
