Kloosterman sums for prime powers in \(p\)-adic fields (Q1032675)

Let \(K\) be a field of degree \(n\) over the field of \(p\)-adic numbers with residue degree \(f\), ramification index \(e\) and differential exponent \(d\). The author generalizes H. Salié's classical result on evaluation of twisted Kloosterman sum \(R(\eta,z)\) (\(n=1\), \(K=\mathbb{Q}_p\)) to the case where \(n>1\) for characters \(\eta\) where the order of \(\eta\) divides \(p-1\). The evaluation relies on the author's explicit determination of Gauss sums for prime powers in \(p\)-adic fields and exponential sums of a particular form.
