Let \(X\) be an ENR homology \(n\)-manifold, \(n \geqslant 4\). It is a long-standing problem in geometric topology as to whether \(X \times \mathbb R\) is a manifold if and only if \(X \times \mathbb R^2\) is a manifold. By combining results of \textit{R. J. Daverman} [Pac. J. Math. 93, 277--298 (1981; Zbl 0415.57007)], \textit{R. D. Edwards} [Proc. int. Congr. Math., Helsinki 1978, Vol.~1, 111--127 (1980; Zbl 0428.57004)], and \textit{F. Quinn} [Mich. Math. J. 34, 285--291 (1987; Zbl 0652.57011)], \(X \times\mathbb R^2\) is a manifold if and only if \(X\) is resolvable. Moreover, \(X \times \mathbb R\) is a manifold if and only if \(X\) is resolvable and \(X \times\mathbb R\) has the Disjoint Disks Property. \textit{R. J. Daverman} and \textit{D. Halverson} [Exotic homology manifolds. Proceedings of the mini-workshop, Oberwolfach, Germany, June 29--July 5, 2003. Coventry: Geometry \& Topology Publications. Geometry and Topology Monographs 9, 7--15 (2006; Zbl 1111.57017)], building on previous work of \textit{D. Halverson} [Topology Appl. 117, No.~3, 231--258 (2002; Zbl 0992.57024)] discovered a condition on \(X\), namely the Disjoint Path Concordances Property, that is equivalent to \(X \times \mathbb R\) having the Disjoint Disks Property. The current paper provides several new characterizations of the Disjoint Path Concordances Property.
