The paper is concerned with the study of the resolvent sets of the double layer potentials related to the traction boundary value problem and the slip boundary value problem of the Stokes equation in a bounded Lipschitz domain \(\Omega \subset \mathbb R^{n}, n\geq 3\). The authors prove that if \(\Omega\) is a Lipschitz bounded domain, then the resolvent sets of the double layer potentials related to the Stokes equation contain \(\mathbb R\setminus [-\frac 12, \frac 12]\).
