A system of partial differential equations is studied in the present work as a model for intracellular Calcium \(Ca^{2+}\) motion. The stationary fronts are constructed and by using Evans function approach, their stability is studied. The results illustrate a new method to stabilise pinned interfaces in continuous excitable systems. Travelling solutions can also be computed in closed form and their existence depends on the time scale of the threshold dynamics.
