Let \(X\) be a (finite- or infinite-dimensional) complex Banach space and \(U\subseteq X\) be an open and balanced subset of \(X\). By a weight is understood any continuous, bounded function \(v: U \rightarrow [0, \infty[\). Weighted spaces \(HV(U)\) of holomorphic functions on \(U\) are considered. These spaces are associated with a countable family \(V\) of weights and endowed with the Fréchet topology \(\tau_V\). The algebraic structure of \(HV(U)\) is studied whenever it exists. Conditions on the family of weights for which \(HV(U)\) becomes an algebra are found. Polynomial decompositions of weighted spaces are considered. Whenever \(HV(X)\) is an algebra, its spectrum is studied. Algebra homomorphisms and composition operators between \(HV(X)\) and \(HV(Y)\) are investigated in the case of a family \(V\) of exponential weights.
