    Let \(D\) denote the unit disc in the complex plane and let \(H(D)\) denote the collection of all functions analytic on \(D\). A weight is a function \(v\) defined on \(D\) such that \(v\) is continuous, strictly positive, bounded, and radial, that is, \(v(z) = v(|z|)\) for each \(z \in D\). For a weight \(v\), define \[ H_{v}^{\infty} = \{f \in H(D): \|f\|_{v} = \sup_{z \in D} {v(z) |f(z)|} < \infty\} \] and \[ H_{v}^{0} = \{f \in H_{v}^{\infty}: \lim_{|z| \to 1} v(z)f(z) = 0\}. \] Let \(\varphi, \psi \in H(D)\) with \(\varphi(D) \subset D\). The weighted composition operator \(\psi C_{\varphi}\) is defined by \((\psi C_{\varphi})(f) = \psi\cdot( f \circ \varphi)\). A weight \(v\) is said to be typical if \(v(|z|)\) is non-increasing relative to \(|z|\) and \(\lim_{|z| \to 1} v(z) = 0\). A weight \(v\) satisfies the Lusky (L1) condition if \[ \inf_{k}{\frac {v(1 - 2^{-k-1})} {v(1 - 2^{k})}} > 0. \] The authors prove that if \(v\) is a typical weight satisfying the Lusky (L1) condition, if \(\psi^{(1)}, \psi^{(2)} \in H_{v}^{0}\), and if the operators \(\psi^{(1)} C_{\varphi^{(1)}}\) and \(\psi^{(2)} C_{\varphi^{(2)}}\) are compact, then they belong to the same path component. Further, they give conditions involving the difference of two such weighted composition operators under which the two operators belong to the same path component. Also, they give a condition under which a composition operator of the form \(C_{\varphi}\) is isolated. Finally, there is some discussion comparing the topologies of the composition operators acting on \(H^{\infty}\) and on \(H_{v}^{\infty}\) for different weights \(v\).
