The paper is based on the analysis of the difference between János Bolyai's and Lobachevskii's notions of non-Euclidean parallelism. The author's novelty in the examination is his new explanation of the location and meaning of Bolyai's term ``parallela'' in his Appendix. This can be summarized that it is not the the three-lined symbol ``\(|||\)'' originally created by Wolfgang Bolyai, but the traditional double lined symbol ``\(||\)'' of parallelism introduced in the 22nd paragraph. The author's argumentation is also based on an analysis of Bolyai's Hungarian manuscript, the Commentary on Lobachevskii's Geometrische Untersuchungen which reveals certain incoherence of Bolyai's translation.
