The paper discusses about the existing relation between the \(\zeta\)-function of the monodromy of certain isolated hypersurface singularities and the Poincaré series of their coordinate rings. The author reviews the results by \textit{A. Campillo, F. Delgado} and \textit{S. M. Gusein-Zade} [Funct. Anal. Appl. 33, No. 1, 56--57 (1999; Zbl 0967.14017) and Duke Math. J. 117, No. 1, 125--156 (2003; Zbl 1028.32013)] concerning irreducible and reducible plane curve singularities and also that by \textit{W. Ebeling} and \textit{S. M. Gusein-Zade} for quasihomogeneous complete intersection singularities [Abh. Math. Semin. Univ. Hamb. 74, 175--179 (2004; Zbl 1070.14004)]. The paper pays special attention to a proof of the equality between the \(\zeta\)-function and the Poincaré series of irreducible plane curve singularities proved in the first cited paper but using the paper by Ebeling and Gusein-Zade. See also [\textit{J. Stevens}, Bull. Lond. Math. Soc. 37, No. 3, 399--404 (2005; Zbl 1080.32030)].
