The aim of the article under review is to compute local Gromov-Witten invariants of a del Pezzo surface \(S_3\), which is isomorphic to \(\mathbb{P}^2\) blown up in 6 points and can be realized as a cubic surface in \(\mathbb{P}^3\) (over \(\mathbb{C}\)). This was done previously for toric del Pezzo surfaces (\(S_d\) for \(6\leq d\leq 9\)). The authors start from introducing a local Gromov-Witten invariant, which is a rational number defined by the integral of a certain class determined by the canonical divisor. Then the following result is proved: for a smooth projective surface with the nef anticanonical divisor, local Gromov-Witten invariants are equal to ordinary Gromov-Witten invariants of a projective bundle compactification of the total space of the canonical line bundle. Therefore local Gromov-Witten invariants deformation equivalent, since ordinary Gromov-Witten invariants are. Next, a nef toric surface \(S^0_3\) is defined by a description of its fan. It is proved that \(S_3^0\) is deformation equivalent to \(S_3\). Hence, to compute local Gromov-Witten invariants for \(S_3\) it is sufficient to find a formula for ordinary Gromov-Witten invariants for a toric surface \(S_3^0\). Finally, the authors obtain a formula for a generating function of local Gromov-Witten invariants for \(S^0_3\) using the virtual localization. The authors remark that their formula is different from the one obtained by \textit{D.-E. Diaconescu} and \textit{B. Florea} [J. High Energy Phys. 12 (2006)] and that proving the equivalence of these formulas is an interesting problem.
